FAQ's
Before you book, here are answers to the questions our patients ask most. From referrals and home testing to CPAP support and sleep studies — everything you need to know to take the next step with confidence.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. Any patient can book directly with us for any sleep concern, whether you’re experiencing snoring, poor sleep, daytime fatigue, or something more complex. You don’t need to visit your GP first or obtain a letter before booking. Simply choose “Initial Sleep Consultation” when booking and our clinical team will guide you through the appropriate assessment and testing from there.
Do you offer home sleep tests anywhere in South Africa?
Yes. We courier home sleep testing kits to patients anywhere in South Africa, meaning you don’t need to live near one of our clinics to get an accurate diagnosis. The equipment is straightforward to use in the comfort of your own bed, and once completed, you simply return the device. Your results are then reviewed by our specialist clinical team, and a follow-up consultation, in person or virtually, is arranged to discuss findings and next steps.
What is a sleep study?
A sleep study is a diagnostic test that monitors your body while you sleep to identify any underlying sleep disorders. It measures a range of variables including your sleep stages and quality, breathing patterns, blood oxygen levels, heart rhythm, and physical movements. This data gives our clinicians a detailed picture of what’s happening during the night, information that simply can’t be gathered from a consultation alone. Depending on your symptoms and circumstances, this can be done in-clinic or via a home testing kit delivered to your door.
Do you support CPAP patients?
Yes, and we offer much more than just a prescription. Our structured CPAP care pathway includes an initial assessment to confirm suitability, device prescription and setup guidance, pressure titration to ensure your therapy is optimised for your specific needs, and ongoing troubleshooting if you experience discomfort, mask issues, or adherence difficulties. We also provide long-term monitoring to track how well your treatment is working over time, because a CPAP device only delivers results when it’s set up correctly and used consistently.
